View Data Source

This section walks users through the process of viewing a Data Source to access the Data Source Summary, which displays detailed, read-only information about the selected Data Source. From this view, users have the option to edit the Data Source or create a Data View with the selected Data Source.

Step 1. Expand on Data Source

On the Data Source page, expand on the Data Source you wish to view.

Step 2. Select View

Select the View button to open the Data Source in view mode.

Step 3. Review Data Source Summary

After selecting View, a read-only detailed summary of the Data Source will display. The summary includes the following:

  1. Data source details:

    • Server Address

    • Port Number

    • Database name

    • Username

  2. Impact Analysis:

    • Number of data views and report(s) using the Data Source.

    • Name of the data views and report(s).

    • Status of the report(s).

    • Audience of the report(s).

Step 4. Options from Data Source Summary Page

From the summary page, you have the following options to proceed with:

  • Edit: Select the Edit button at the bottom of the page to make changes as needed.

  • Add Data View: Select the Add Data View button to create a new Data View using this Data Source. This will open the Data View creation wizard.

  • Close: Select the Close button at the top right corner to exit the summary without making any changes.
